ICD-11 Update March 19th, 2021 10:30-11:30AM EST

The World Health Assembly approved a resolution to adopt the International Classification of Diseases, 11th Revision, (ICD-11) on May 25, 2019. It will go into effect as the new international standard on January 1, 2022.

This is a virtual session to be held via Zoom and is an introduction to the WHO’s ICD-11 codes for Mortality and Morbidity Statistics (MMS). Speaker Mary H. Stanfill, MBI, RHIA, CCS, CCS-P, FAHIMA, VP Consulting Services at UASI will review the ICD-11 code structure and organization and demonstrate how to classify common conditions using the WHO coding tool and browser. Multiple conditions, coded with both ICD-11 and ICD-10-CM will be presented to compare and contrast the two coding systems.
